What are some of your Van Life Essentials?

These are some of our must haves on the road. They help in so many amazing ways.

Can you tell us about your van?

"The Van Chronicles: Our Serendipitous Discovery"

Our journey into the world of van life began with a stroke of luck and a bit of online sleuthing. After scouring countless listings on vanlifetrader.com, we stumbled upon what can only be described as our dream on wheels.

Priced at around $80,000, this van was a rare find, with all the features we had been tirelessly searching for. It was as if fate or (just hard core searching) had guided us to this very moment, presenting us with a van that ticked every box on our wishlist.

What made the discovery even more serendipitous was the fact that there were only two similar vans in the entire New England region. As we made our way to see it, we couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation mingled with a touch of nervousness. Is this going to happen? Is this actually happening? What if this doesn’t happen?

When we arrived, we found ourselves joined by another couple equally intrigued by the van. Our hearts were pounding, as we made a spontaneous decision to make an offer then and there. Looking back, it was a decision driven by instinct, and one we're grateful we made. Soooo, grateful!

Delving into the technical details, the van boasted an impressive array of features designed to enhance life on the road. From its 360 Amp hour LiFePO4 battery bank to its 30 Amp shore power charging and 400-watt solar charging system, it was clear that this van was built for adventure.

In the kitchen, a 12v 50-liter dual-zone refrigerator/freezer awaited, seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry. With a 2-burner propane stovetop and ample counter space, mealtime was transformed into a culinary adventure.

Water was no afterthought either, with 30 gallons of fresh water storage and top-of-the-line filtration systems ensuring we stayed hydrated wherever the road took us. And let's not forget the shower—a dedicated oasis complete with a Truma Combi propane heater and luxurious teak accents. Feels like a spa on wheels!

When it was time to rest, the van's ingenious fold-down bed platform provided a cozy retreat, while insulated curtains and reading lights added a touch of homey comfort. Especially on cool nights when we are all cuddled up and reading with a cup of tea. Perfect!

As we reflect on our journey thus far, we can't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the van that has become so much more than just a means of transportation. It's a symbol of freedom, a conduit for exploration, and a reminder that sometimes, the best adventures begin with a leap of faith.
