Exploring Charleston, SC: History, Food, and Friends!

We had the absolute best time visiting Charleston, SC, with our wonderful friends Dan and Kelly! From the moment we set foot in this historic gem of a city, we were captivated by its charm, history, and vibrant energy.

Our day began with breakfast at Church and Union, a restaurant housed in a beautifully restored 105-year-old church. With 60-foot vaulted ceilings, original stained-glass windows, and hand-written text from The Art of War across the ceiling, this spot was as stunning as it was delicious. Definitely a unique way to start the day!

We wandered the charming cobblestone streets of historic downtown Charleston, soaking in the atmosphere and stopping at some great local bookstores. Buxton Books offered an incredible selection and even better conversation with the owner—such a delightful stop!

Lunch was an absolute highlight at Husk, set in a gorgeous two-story Victorian home. The food was nothing short of award-winning—deviled eggs, nettle cheese toast, a mushroom omelet, and steak and eggs that blew us away. Every bite was heavenly, and the location itself was stunning, perfectly blending Charleston's history with its culinary flair.

Along the way, we stumbled across a super cool vintage bus being restored. The owner kindly let us hop inside to take a look—it’s little surprises like this that make adventures so special!

By the end of the day, we’d racked up over 20,000 steps exploring Charleston’s French Quarter and Battery districts. The pastel antebellum houses, horse-drawn carriages, and waterfront views were like stepping into another era. Every corner had something new and beautiful to discover.

Charleston truly is a city you could visit again and again, and we’re so grateful to Dan and Kelly for showing us around and making it such a memorable trip. Until next time, Charleston! 🏡🌴
